November 20, 2019

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is among my personal favorite books from 2016. Within this two part video, I am going more than a book summary, my ideas on Mark Manson’s newest book, and the way to apply these profound concepts.

My ideas and review of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k are organized in 2 parts.

Part 1:

Embrace the uncomfortable – everything useful in existence is won through surmounting the connected negative experience

The issue with happiness – the struggles that you simply overcome are essential to making and sustaining happiness

Existence goals – think about “what are you prepared to struggler for?”

Embrace challenges and failures – “one day, looking back, time of struggle will strike you because the most beautiful”

Be truthful on your own – just how you are feeling concerning the negative facets of yourself. If you’re able to honestly assess your negative values and focus on improving them, you’re inside a good place.

Choose your values carefully – don’t compare you to ultimately others. Selecting your values comes lower to priorities. Do you know the values that you simply prioritize above anything else and for that reason influence the decision making process greater than other things? Better values → better problems → better existence

Part 2:

Be responsible – taking possession of the problems (Totally different from taking fault) empowers you to definitely solve them making a positive alternation in your existence

Never be so certain – certainty may be the enemy of humbleness. Uncertainty is essential for progress and growth

You aren’t special – measure yourself in mundane ways. Give up the grandiose ideas of yourself: that you’re distinctively intelligent, or gifted, or attractive, or victimized with techniques others couldn’t even imagine

Define your objectives wisely – Traditional goals like graduating from college are restricted in the quantity of happiness they are able to generate. Rather, our proudest achievements come when confronted with the finest adversity.

Sustain the discomfort – embrace the discomfort you’ve selected and savor it.

Simply do it – Action isn’t only the aftereffect of motivation it is also the reason for it

Choose quality over quantity – there’s elevated freedom from commitment

Remember you’re likely to die – reminding ourselves that existence is finite allows us to take away the superficial values that weigh us lower
