Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, & TensorFlow (Book Review)
Video / July 15, 2020

On my quest to find good data science books, I came across Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, &TensorFlow. The book has been recommended all over the internet and even from a few friends who are data scientists. As an overall rating I give it 4.5 stars out of 5. Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, & TensorFlow (affiliate link) https://amzn.to/3cKzILG DO NOT BUY THE FIRST EDITION! It is shorter, lacks color graphics, does not cover the newer TensorFlow 2, and on Amazon it is more expensive (as of right now). Who is the book for? 1) the book is great for beginners 2) those who have a strong statistics and math background 3) and experienced data scientists who want a reference book Who is the book NOT for? 1) those who are experienced in data science looking to advance their knowledge and understanding 2) those looking for a mathematically rigorous textbook This book has a great sweet spot of programming and general understanding. I compare it to two other books so you can get an idea of what the book is good at and what you might want a different book for. Below are the other books reviewed. 1)…

Charlie Gilkey | The Small Business Cycle | Book Review by Lisa Woodruff of Organize 365
Video / July 15, 2020

Charlie Gilkey | The Small Business Cycle | Book Review by Lisa Woodruff of Organize 365 In July, I review books that discuss the nuts and bolts of building a business. I also share some of the mentors I have chosen as I grow my own small business. Some of the books are from other business founders. This week I review The Small Business Life Cycle: The No-Fluff Guide to Navigating the Five Stages of Small Business Growth by Charlie Gilkey. I bought this book when I wanted to learn about the different stages of a small business, and how to effectively move from one to the next. This book walks through five simple stages in small business. I share some of the ways this book helped me navigate these challenges in 2018 and 2019 when I kept chasing my tail fixing new problems and feeling like I was not making traction. This book also helped me to understand how to transition from riding a rocket ship solo to managing a team and creating for long term stability. @CharlieGilkey FTC: This video is not sponsored.
