I just finished “Horror Movie” by Paul Tremblay and… it wasn’t for me. In this review I break down why this hyped horror novel about a cursed indie film, an unnamed narrator called “Thin Kid,” and a script-within-a-novel structure didn’t deliver the scares I was looking for. Interesting concept, but no suspense, no build-up, and a narrator so laid-back he sucks the tension out of every scene. The last 5 pages were great though. 2/5 stars.
