What I’m Reading Right Now | Book Review And Summary

February 14, 2020

What I’m Reading Right Now | Book Review And Summary | Here’s a low-down of the main lessons to learn from these books. I’m a third-year Computer Engineering student at the University of Pretoria (Tuks) but also do a whoooooooole lot of other stuff. Check out the rest below…

As I said in the video – it’s so important to be reading good books even if you are at school or at varsity because you need the depth as well as breadth of knowledge that books provide which your narrow course syllabus does not.

I’ve always been thankful to my parents for encouraging me to read and it’s probably one of the single greatest things you can do for your child – get them reading. My friends recently have also been reading some stellar works so they’re a great influence too. 😉

The books I talked about:

00:26 Guns, Germs And Steel – Jared Diamond
02:31 Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell
04:41 The Case For Mars – Robert Zubrin
06:40 Artemis Fowl – Eoin Colfer
07:22 Enlightenment Now – Steven Pinker
08:59 Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert T. Kiyosaki
09:50 Why We Sleep – Matthew Walker

This video contains Mars, computer programmers, sports stars, colonization, financial advice, a lack of sleep, a bad cough and some light-hearted fiction.

You can message me at https://www.instagram.com/mitch7w/ and https://www.facebook.com/mitch7w but I only check these once a week for my own sanity.

My name is Mitch Williams and I’m a twenty year-old living in South Africa. I am really passionate about learning, technology, photography, cinematography, reading, hiking, always improving and am studying Computer Engineering at The University of Pretoria (Tuks). These videos are a way of remembering my life and to possibly help out some other future varsity students get a sense of what they’re in for. Spoiler – it’s hard af but you’ll probably thank yourself for doing it. Anyways, see you around the internet.:)
