Main Point Here in advance. I recommend X-Men #1. Readers expecting a higher-octane action spectacular may leave a little disappointed. But lengthy-time Hickman readers know he’s about setting the table before having to pay readers served by highly impactful tales and occasions. X-Men #1 is an extremely well performed comic.

Beginning OF X! The X-Men finish up in an entire ” new world ” of possibility… and everything has never been better! Jonathan Hickman (HOUSE OF X, Forces OF X, SECRET WARS) and superstar artist Leinil Yu (NEW AVENGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA) reveal the saga of Cyclops and the hands-selected squad of mutant powerhouses!

Jonathan Hickman set the comic industry burning together with his recent X-Men reboot. House of X and Forces of X hit larger than anybody might have predicted. House of X and Forces of X reset the established order for the appearance of Beginning of X, six new X-Men titles managed by Hickman themself. First the gate is X-Men #1 from author Jonathan Hickman and veteran X-Men artist Leinil Francis Yu.

Artist Leinil Yu comes with an uneven showing in X-Men #1. Don’t misunderstand me, the skill well exceeds passable but many of his figures feel stiff through the story. Most facial expressions fit the moments but no character feel alive or vibrant typically. Where Yu really shines in X-Males are set pieces and then any visuals coping with technology. He’s an excellent eye to make sets and equipment look really awesome. Which needs to be a significant asset because the series progresses.

Lienil Yu plays a role in a effective relaunch from the X-Men series. While his visuals really are a bit uneven, especially his facial expression. He is doing a great job overall. I really hope he will get more possibilities to produce amazing sets and tech later on.

Jonathan Hickman’s X-Men #1 is a very nice beginning to Beginning of X. It’s includes a very different feel than House of X and Forces of X. It’s a lot more character driven and it has another flavor compared to previous books. This comic is filled towards the brim with excellent dialogue and character moments. Jonathan Hickman really drives home precisely how important Krakoa would be to mutants. The plot isn’t probably the most exciting on the planet and couple of solutions, or no are supplied. We all do however get 2 excellent plot introduction using the posthuman and also the issues cliffhanger.

Jonathan Hickman, Pepe Larraz, R.B. Silva and Marte Gracia set the bar high with House of X and Forces of X. As I don’t think X-Men #1 quite reaches individuals heights this can be a well-performed comic that introduces a set of new plot threads. Jonthan Hickman’s dialogue is great and extremely drives home how important Krakoa would be to all mutants. Leinil Francis Yu doesn’t get lots of possibilities to shine within this comic but his sets are immaculate and the science is actually awesome. He and Sunny Gho perform a good job at creating tone, especially around the Forge.

A great begin to Beginning of X and sets an excellent tone throughout the series. Some readers might be switched off because when different the pacing comes from HoX/PoX. However this feels a lot more like old-school Claremont and that i like that many. The brand new format of single tales with overarching plot threads is really a welcome change in my opinion. A great start and that i can’t watch for next week’s Marauders #1.
