Book Review The Pumpkin Plan (A simple strategy to grow a remarkable business in any field) by Mike Michalowicz.
What a great book and great practical ideas to build any type of business into a specific Niche.
That is the key, niche!
Most people run around, entrepreneurs/business owners, chasing every possible client and becoming too broad.
That is the key point of this book.
Is how you grow a business by finding. your best clients and then going big on them, and creating a niche, that very few can compete with.
This can be any type of business, the key is figuring out who your best customers are and then just concentrating on them is the 11 lessons this book and Mike shares.
In Each lesson there is an example of a business he talks about making it a pumpkin plan.
The whole Pumpkin plan concept is that, to grow a record size pumpkin, you need to find the right seed and then carefully nuture it and specialize in growing giant “Atlantic” pumpkins.
And don’t forget systems and process, which are key to growing the businesses and being an entrepreneur, if not you are just pretending to be one, while you just exchanged your job (time for money) for a different vehicle if you don’t create systems/process, which eliminate the need for you to be there to run the business
I haven’t read the Blue Ocean Strategy, but it might be similar thought process.
